When I go to try and import an Intergraph neutral file, I get an error stating "improper version of mapping file detected. No materials will be transfered." I'm trying now to work out the bugs in this so I will be prepared next week to actually perform this function. Can anyone tell me what my version problem means and the solution?

At some point in time, the two columns of the "material mapping file" were switched, to allow longer material names.

What exact version and build of CAESAR II are you using?

I diabled the PDS_mat.map file and that got it to work. There were some materials from PDS, like A53-B-ERW, that are not listed in the file and was causing the error, I assume. Is there an update to this file or do I need to manually add?

First, there is a later update to 4.50 on this website, the 050407. This will be better for you.

The whole purpose of the mapping file is to allow you to add PDS materials to the file, and assiciate them with CAESAR II material numbers. If a material is found in the PDS neutral file, that isn't in the mapping file, it warns you, and assumes the properties of low carbon steel. It should still convert the file though.

(As far as your Version 5.00 goes, send an e-mail to "sales@coade.com" and ask where it is.)
