Dear all,

According to API 610, we have a pump that it has 2 times API 610 allowable load. But it doesn't pass by this factor. I have a question: according to appendix F of this standard, should we compare load components with table A-2 or 2 times this table for equation F.1.2.a.

Dear Mohammad

1) If you are using API pump & if calculated nozzle load is less than as mention in the table, it is pass

2) Some of the value you can go upto 2 times of the listed value provided equation F.1.2.a is satisfied

3) If vendor agree to provide all the value 2 times of API value or even more .It is accepted.

Regards

Habib

I believe the standard states that the Purchaser must approve the 2 times table value, not the vendor.

Also, 2 times the table is not sufficient; additional checks in Annex F must also be satisfied.

I dealt with this before. Vendor gave us extended nozzle allowable, the 2 x table 4 (starts 11th - 2010 is table 5), but Annex F unapplicable.

Please check with your pump supplier.
