Have you switched the video driver (from OPENGL to Windows Basic)?

You can do this yourself. Just start up the Configuration module, go to the "Graphics Settings" pane, scroll down to the Video Driver, and change the setting to "Windows Basic Video".

Hi Richard,

We have a slightly different problem with plotting.

Our workstation is a Dell Precision with 4GB Mem, video card ATI FirePro V4800, runs on Windows 7 Pro (64-bit, SP1).

The CAESAR II version we have been running on this machine is 5.20.2 (Build 100122)

We build, run, plot.. without any problems for about 2-3 months. Then suddenly, when we start CAESAR and try to open a file -> nothing happens: we have to go to Graphic Settings to change to Windows Basic Video in order to get the file opened!

Once we are in the input window, we try to Plot/Print the graphic then an error message appears that force us to close the program ("CAESAR II Application has stopped working - A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available") + Close program

Something probably changed on your machine (I suspect one of those stealthy Tuesday night updates that occur monthly).

The first thing to try is visit the ATI website and see if they have an updated driver for that FirePro V4800 graphics card.

We did download/install the latest driver for the video card; but still the same problem!

We also tried to remove the 5.2 directory in Windows Registry (as suggested by a CodeCad tech for another CAESAR II graphical problem) but it did not resolve the problem either.
