I am carrying out stress analysis on a riser of approximately 10.5 m water depth. I am required to take into consideration the platform deflections at the hanger clamp and guide clamps. Does anyone have an idea of how to do this. Thanks

You can model the platform in CAESAR and link nodes with pipe.

you have to define a Cnode on your restraint then you have to put the structure deflection as a displacement in the Cnode.

Exemple:
Restraint in Node 10 ----> Cnode 1010
structure deflection: 4 mm (vertical axis Y)

define displacement : Cnode 1010: X = free, Z = free , Y = -4

(free mean that you let it blank)

My opinion is that cnode displacements need to be fully defined i.e. zero and not free. Cnode is not free. Relationship between node and cnode is defined through the restraint type, so if you have 10 +Y cnode 1010 mean 10 can not move vertically down respect to 1010 but is free in other directions respect to 1010. Cnode is not free to move.
