Why don’t we specify the thickness for the valves? Say for instance, I’m using a pipe with 3” OD & 7 mm thickness. This pipe is connected to a ball valve is having the same size. If I’ll change the pipe thickness, shall I need to change the valve thickness? If not, then why?

It's your choice. the usual and conservative model of a valve is rigid with a mass specified, and this is generally ok. If you think you might gain something by adding a specified thickness, then do it. I suspect that you will be wasting your time.

CAESAR II doesn't compute stresses on rigid bodies, because the cross-section is:
a) unknown
b) typically varies along its length
c) not important when compared to the stress in the pipe

The Documentation explains how the stiffness of rigid elements in computed. MoverZ is correct, the weight of rigid elements is specified in the input - there is no weight calculation here.

A. Are you really using 3" Pipe or are you using 3" Tubing?

B. If you are using 3" Pipe how do you get 3" OD? My chart shows 3" Pipe has a3.5 inch OD (3" Tubing would have a 3" OD).

C. How did you get 7mm wall thickness for your "Pipe? The closest wall thickness to 7mm is Sch 80 at 7.62mm.
