Hello all,

I am wanting to perform a nozzle assessment to API 685, i.e. for a canned motor pump. Is there any way i can do this within Caesar, as far as i am aware there are only API checks for 610, 617, 661 and 560.

Thanks

Are these allowable nozzle loads different from API 610? If not (which I think to be) use API 610 module.

If not, you can use equipment check for a simple check (not the combined one) You can alter the Api 610 file and create your own.

Regards,

Unfortunately i only have the allowable loads for API 685. Is there any way of extracting the allowables which Caesar uses for API 610 so that i can compare them?

No you can't extract the data from CAESAR II. The only way to see if the limiting loads are the same would be to compare the two Codes. Even if the load limits are the same, are the same equations used?

I do not have access to the whole code so i am unable to verify which equations are used in API 685. It appears i will have to provide my pump supplier with the loads to be induced on the pump nozzles, i note that there are methods of qualifying nozzle loads in excess of those quoted in the standard.

There are the same.

You can use API 610 module.
