Hi All,
I'm using Caesar 4.30 on a Windows NT 4.0 box with Service Pack 6a on it. Every time I try to execute the "Standard Graphics" options from the "Plot" menu on the "Piping Input" window, I get the following error on a Dr. Watson window:

"An application error has ocurred and an application error log is being generated.
Prepip.exe"

Does anybody has any idea how to fix it ?
Any response will be greatly appreciate it.

The "standard graphics" have not changed since Version 4.10. All future graphics development is targeting the "3D Graphics".

Check the specific graphics board in your machine, and ensure you are using the latest drivers that accompany it.

Further to my last post on this subject, we just encountered a machine with similar behavior problems. Going to "Control Panel\Display\Settings" and reducing the color (depth) to either 16 bit or 256 colors solved the problem.

I must say that since the installation of CAESAR II-4.30_010223 on our WIN95 machines I regurlarly encounter crashes with 'prepip.exe' when running a Piping-input or closing the output-processor with the going-back-to-the-piping-input button (nice word,ha? :-) ).

Is there something more I can do about this then changing the colour bit-rate?

First, download the latest build from the <font color="0000ff">COADE</font> web site. This may or may not solve this particular problem, but you are not running the latest software.

While I personally feel that Win95 is better than Win98 or WinME, it has its own set of problems. Win95 wasn't really capable of running major applications until Service Pack 2, which was only released to OEMs for new machines. Everyone else had to grab bits and pieces from Microsoft's web site. So the bottom line here is that you have to ensure that your Operating System includes the latest updates from Microsoft.

We test our software on all Operating Systems (Win95/98/ME/NT/2000) before releasing it. If we encounter a problem, we don't release. As to your specific problem, can you narrow this down anymore? Can you tell me mouse click by mouse click what you're doing to crash PREPIP? Does this happen all the time or is this random? Can you do this on any other machine?
