in piping design of steam turbine (inlet and outlet), if the nozzle loading is OK, and the forces are in the range, is that necessary to use spring hangers (spring box) under the pipe near the turbine flanges, or not.

i think first support near turbine nozzle should be spring support, having all hot load between nozzle & spring, on the spring.ie using free restraint node concept.
Spring may also help for maintenance purpose.
Any senior advised really help!

When you ask a "general" question and expect a "Specific" answer you are asking for trouble.

Your question should be very specific regarding:
- the orientation (up, down, horizontal, north/south/east/west) of the inlet and out nozzles,
- the distance for each above the Turbine support point
- the direction of the piping coming to or leaving the nozzles
- the maximum operating temperature of the supply steam and the exhaust
- the location and type of the support for the piping (supply steam and the exhaust side)
- the type and location of any concentrated loads (valves) in the piping between the piping support and the turbine
- add a sketch

Now you have asked a specific question and you will be more likely to get a specific answer.
