Hello,

I would appreciate some help in this matter.

What are the considerations of Coade for the new equations of Sustained stress in paragraph 320 of ASME B31.3 2010?

More accurately, the Code now is asking to include axial and torsional SIFs for computing sustained stresses in that paragraph. Are they included automatically by CaserII for pipe
elements enlisted in Appendix D or not?

The Code also says is designer's responsibility to determine them (axial and torsional SIFs) for pipe elements outside Appendix D, such as crosses...
in reality this implies to establish the four SIFs (in-plane, out-of-plane, axial and torsional for them...any reference for this?

CAESAR II does not yet address the 2010 edition of B31.3 (this was published after the release of CAESAR II 2011 [v.5.30]). The next version of the software will address the 2010 edition of B31.3.

In the meantime, from the Configuration Module, turn on "Code Case 178", which is the same thing. (The 2010 edition of the Code moved CC-178 up into Section 320.)

There is no reference for the additional SIFs mentioned in Paragraph 320.
