I find my CAESAR II version 5.00 is a little slow compare old version, especially when show the stress result after calculation, I don’t know this is my computer problem or it is like this. Thanks for your advice if any.

Version 5.00 is doing more, behind the scenes than previous versions did, so it may seem slower. With regard to the stress report, actually all the reports, they are both interactive and customizable. If you click on a column heading, the report will be sorted by "that" column.

From the Main Manu, if you go to "\Help\Animated Tutorials", there are 6 new videos that describe the new capabilities of Version 5.00 and how to use this version effectively. Watch the one on "Report Customization".

I have met a problem which is I can’t print the pipe drawing with central line, only can print with shaded drawing, no matter how to change the view on computer, I think this a problem of this version. What is Mr. Richard Ay think? Or may be some operation I don’t know?

You're right, this is a problem. We are working on this now (in conjunction with the HOOPS vendor), and should have this corrected in the 1^st Build to Version 5.00.

What are some other "issues" with the new version that have been discovered and plan to be corrected?

Cannot prit the plot that I would like.

Will you be e-mailed when the 1st build is released? Only if you registered the software. You can register from the Main Menu from "\help\on-line registration".

This is the only way we have of contacting users, so everyone needs to register.

There was a nice feature in a previous release of CAESAR II in the output module wherein one could quizz an output report with the binocular icon for the "highest occurance of ... " and "next highest occurance ...". In the release 5.00 version, there is a binocular icon which really doesn't do anything for me. I sure miss that above noted search feature. Can it be brought back?

You don't really need it. Click on the column headings, this will sort everything by "that" column.

Also, there are a number (6 to be exact) videos that explain, or show, the new features of Version 5.00. You can find these off of the Main Menu: "\help\animated tutorials". You need to watch these. There are a lot of things in 5.00 that will save you time.

If you use 5.00 the way you used previous versions, you'll miss half the work we did over the past two years.

If I hit “AutoHide” two times in list menu, the PREPIP.exe always closed by Window, and all my input data is loss if not saved before. I don’t know why, may be other user have met the same problem ?

I presume you mean the ThumbTac to "AutoHide" the spreadsheet? I just exercised this repeatedly (with and without the LIST open) - no problems encountered. Here are some suggestions:

1) Check on the website for your graphics card vendor, to see if they have a later driver. If so download and install it.

2) In Display\Settings\TroubleShooting, slow down or turn off "Hardware Acceleration". This is the root cause of many graphics problems.

3) If that doesn't help, go to the Configuration Module, then to the "3D Viewer Settings". Scroll this list of options down to the bottom and find the setting for Video Driver. Change this setting to "Windows Basic Video", and see if that has any effect.
