hi shamaliabhavin

do you want to know it about expansion joint type?

first you should study Expansion joint in accordance with EJMA Code or B31.3
of APPENDIX Metalic expansion joint

Expansion joint has many types and character i,e (Tie rod type , hinge type , pressure balanced type, gimbal type and rubber expansion joint )

if your piping sytem needs to resist pressure thrust , you can use it with tie rod type . as i know , tie rod type Expansion joint protects lateral
movement and absorbs thermal movement
also your piping sytem occurs pressure thurst simultaneously

limit rod can resist pressure thrust

limit rod value shoud be lager than calculating pressure thrust load

pressure thrust equition is below

effective area * pressure

use effective id in caesar program

regards
