I am using CII 5.10 of latest build for my system. For flexibility analysis of any pipe size, is it OK to use stiffness value "zero" in rod restraint of any type.

Can i get any reference literatures on this support design.

"Zero" - no, "blank" - yes. A blank value for stiffness means use the CAESAR II default.

Why even bother defining the restraint if the stiffness is set to zero?

If I define stiffness as "zero" the CII (version 5.1 latest build only)is showing error messsage that-"THE SELECTED FILE HAS AN INCOMPATIBLE VERSION NUMBER. PLEASE RUN ANALYSIS AGAIN WITH THE CURRENT VERSION OF CII".

Further the static output processor is not showing its text contents.

It worked with value blank or value other than Zero.

I used the latest version of CII 2011 with stiffness value "ZERO", and it worked. why not in CII 5.1 of latest build. Kindly clarify.
