This may depend on the particular version and build of CAESAR II and the version and any service packs of MS Word.
The "Bad Parameter" message (in later versions of CAESAR II) is related to MS Word 2007 changes (in conjunction with Windows security and user account permissions) -- the Word 2007 document has completely different format from previous versions (like Word 2003). Basically, a few years back (by suggestion directly from Microsoft) we implemented some "report generating speed enhancing" features that worked well with MS Word 2003. We still feed the data in the "2003 format" which should be internally interpreted by Word 2007; however, on some (very few, though) systems this causes the "bad parameter" problem. This is really an IT task to work this out on the end user machine (Windows security and user account permissions wise). However, we can't specifically identify what is exactly wrong, so we created a so-called workaround version of CAESAR II--Word interface that skips the calls to the "report generating speed enhancing" features. This avoids the "bad parameter" issue but could result in slower report generation.
Here is what you need to do:
Make sure you have the latest patch for your CAESAR II 2011 (v5.30).
Then modify the following System Registry setting [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Intergraph CAS\CAESAR II\5.30\MsWord\BPFix] from default "0.0" to "1.0". This is a manual change, but only needs to be done once. Check with IT people if you have trouble accessing the Windows System Registry.
