Dear All,
I have problem for allignment compressor with spring,
I want to know which one is correctly for output result displacement.
We use Friction Multiplayer 0 or 1 in loadcase option ?
Because will be get significant value for displacement, especially for x and z direction.

These are loadcase :
Load Case/Strees Type/Hanger Stiffnes/Friction Multiplayer
(I) Case WNC+H/OPE/As Design/1
Case WNC+H/OPE/As Rigid/0
or
(II) Case WNC+H/OPE/As Design/1
Case WNC+H/OPE/As Rigid/1

Thanks
Boy

Friction is applied as follows:

friction coefficient used = friction coefficient input on the restraint * friction multiplier.

Examples:

Friction Coefficent Used, Friction coefficient input, friction multiplier
0.3, 0.3, 1.0
0.0, 0.3, 0.0
0.4, 0.3, 1.33

Thank for response,
I mean if we check alignment for Nozzle (compressor)
we should considered about multiplier friction or not,
because when I check with multiplier friction 1, fx = 0.85 mm
but when without multiplier friction (as 0) will be 1.9 mm,
so that one make me confused.

Please give me advice, which multiplier value will be consider.

Thanks
Boy

Friction can only be used to make things worse. You need to check both situations and take the worst results. You can never rely on friction.
