I requires explanation on hot set & cold set design of hangers.

I gone through caesar manuals. But, i cant get the concepts clearly.

Please help me in understanding the thing.

The default "hot load design" sizes the hangers to carry the weight of the pipe (balance the system) in the Operating condition. The alternate "cold load design" sizes the hangers to carry the weight of the pipe (balace the system) in the cold (Sustained) condition.

Note that you can only balance the system in one position, all other positions (load cases) are unbalanced (meaning the spring is putting too little or too much load on the pipe).
