Hi,
Good day to everyone.

Recently we had an issue with a Tank, 18 m dia having an settlement of 40 mm. At site the tank is still undergoing settlement. At present we have carried out the Stress Analysis, but we are not able to establish the allowable loads for the 4" Nozzle, 150#.
Following API 650 in CAESAR Analysis gives a warning message that the tank dia is less than 36m. Also getting the allowables from the vendor yielded no response. But the Tank Data sheet says that it has been designed using API 650.
What will be the correct guideline to establist the allowable loads for tanks less than 36 m? Can we use WRC 297 or WRC 107 and qualify the tank...

Kindly give your thoughts and suggestions.

Regards,
SAM PSA

Only the vendor is qualified to provide the allowable loads in your case.
Let him to do this.
