My Client request us to perform stress analysis for repaired pipe which is corroded carbon steel pipe wrapped with fiber glass or plastic material. This pipe will be composite material between carbon steel (t = 5 mm assumed) and plastic (thick 20 mm). I'm not sure about input and how to selected code compliance? Can Caesar II perform stress analysis?

Thanks.

CAESAR II can not analyze pipe comprised of a composite material. The best you could do in CAESAR II would be to model the carbon steel pipe, then consider the fiber glass as insulation (for weight purposes only).

You can also manually compute the equivalent wall thickness of a steel pipe and enter that in CAESAR II. Remember that both W and I need to be correct so most probably you have to alter the E-modulus too.
