In the past, we have taken AutoPLANT piping files, ran an isometric which created a .pcf file, and used CAESAR II "External Interface" tools to create a ".C 2" file from the .pcf file.

For a particular job, our designers are using ACAD MEP, which I am not as familiar with. We are inputing all of the geometry from the MEP program into CAESARII "by hand," that is, no automation. Has anyone had success in extracting the geomtry data out of an MEP file and importing it into CAESAR II? I am not a fan of recreating the pipe routings that someone has already put into a computer!!

Any help or ideas is much appreciated. thanks.

If MEP can create a PCF file your process will be the same. This would be the only way to import, since I doubt MEP creates the CAESAR II Neutral File.
