Hi all

I am working in oil and gas field, currently we are handling a project in Saudi arabia. My question is;
For desert area plants when we do stress analysis calculation do we need to consider uniform load?. If yes kindly inform how to obtain the value from who we can get.
Client already approved our stress analysis calculation without uniform load consideration

I am very very new to stress field so kindly give your reply and suggestion.

What is the source of your uniform load? It's not snow and ice! Could you get a layer of sand on the top of the pipe?

If it is a traced line, the weight of the tracers can be considered as uniform load.

Uniform load can be also the G loads (e.g. static earthquake loadings). However is not related to the fact that the plant is in desert but in a seismic zone.
