Hello Dears,

I check some models in CAESAR II that someone did it later. He modeled its branches with a rigid element from header to branch start point and checked SIFs & Tees in 3 Nodes in each branch. Is it correct?

I’ve attached a piece of it for checking.

Thank you,

Dears Mohammad,
I think he/she is Modelling Large D/d Tee and that is right approach since the distance from the point of tee to the surface of the pipe (Header 48 inch so the distance from tee point to surface pipe is 24 inc) which is twice the branch diameter.
I suggest you to read Coade Mechanical Engineering News December 1998 page 6-8, where they write about this topic.
