Dear frnz,

I modelled a hot oil line from boiler to storage tank.
It is a 12" line of STD SCH,having Design temp & pressure of 300C & 1000Kpa.
It is having a total run of 105 meters with 4 change in directions.
In one direction it is 42 meters long run, where i accomidated one exp loop.
As the line is of high temperature i have to give one more expansion loop.
But am unable to find enough straight run for one more loop.
Even if i accomidated, i dont knw where to give anchoring to actiavate the loop.
Could some one tell me whether anchoring is compulsory to activate the expansion loop.
In one direction it is having a straight run of 16 meters. If i gave loop, i have to give the anchoring at the supports which is near to change in direction on both sides of the loop. This anchoring is making the pipe to lift at certain supports.

Kollapaneni,
Can you include a sketch?
If so please identify each turn with a letter so we can better communicate our suggestions.

If no sketch is possible then please consider this.
You might be able to use the natural configuration to allow for the expansion. Example: place an anchor in the middle (or as near as possible) of the 16 meter run and let it grow each way. Arrange the adjacent piping to allow for the growth in your line.
Do the same for the other "short" runs.
