Hi Richard,
first of all thanks for yours quickly reply.
I think that is possible solve this fault with a dedicated load case. Check following load cases:

L3 W+P1+T1 OPE
L4 W+P1 SUS
L5 L3-L4 EXP
L6 L4+(0.25*L5) SUS

Starting with these definitions:
Eq 12.3.2-1 SUSTAINED --> (Pc*Do/4e)+(0.75i*Ma/z) < fh
Eq 12.3.4-1 EXPANSION --> (i*Mc/z) < fa
Eq 12.3.5-1 ADDITIONAL FOR CREEP RANGE
--> (Pc*Do/4e)+(0.75i*Ma/z)+(0.75i*Mc/3z) < fcr

we can thinking this formula as
SUS + (0.75/3)i*Mc/z --> SUS+(0.25*EXP)

for this reason I created L6 load case and I chose, considering that in creep condition fh=fcr, stress type=SUS.
Can this approach be right?

Thanks
Best regards

That might work, but what are you going to do for an allowable in "L6"?

Hi Richard,
about the L6 allowable, I know that in load cases definition table, if I select stress type=SUS, CII selects the allowable referring to the highest temperature inputted in the model. If I have only one thermal condition in creep range, L6 is compared with the correct allowable, but the problems starts with two or more different thermal combinations in creep range that must be checked...
I kindly ask you if can be this problem fixed in next release?
Thanks once more.

That is really the differance between B31 and EN13480.

I have the same problem as you.

Hope for the development because CAESAR II said that it had the EN13480 code but we cannot cacular by it.

"Creep" for EN13480 is on the "Development List".

Richard,

Is this still in the development list or included in latest version?

Thanks

We are hoping to address this in Version 8.00 (CAESAR II 2015).

May I know why Intergraph is not interested to fix this? Is it not relevant?

Out of my curiosity.... :-)

We are interested in addressing this. Why did you jump to that conclusion?

Refreshing this old thread, is it possible in Caesar II to satisfy the eq. 12.3.5-1 for piping operating within the creep range (EN 13480-3 code) in Version 8.00 (CAESAR II 2016) or Version 7.00 (CAESAR II 2014)? Currently I only have Version 7.00 installed.

Hi, Kwierema. We have good news as support for the creep range (En-13480) using CAESAR II is in our CAESAR II 2017 (version 9.00) release (scheduled for release by August). We hope you will consider upgrading to take advantage of this and many other great enhancements to the software. Let me know if you have any other questions

I can inform that it is a big step towards users.
A lot of CII users are from Europe where we used in many cases a European Standards.
So I'm happy that in current version of CII (2017) the creep condition acc. to EN 13480 is working, because before the CII was focused on ASME Standards.
Thanks a lot for this change
