Hi Everyone,

With regards in analysis of jacketed piping we also evaluated the nozzle load of the connected equipment. I had analyze the piping system with a diameter of 8" core pipe and 10" jacketed pipe.

My concern is:
What size of nozzle allowables I can compared the load output in CAESAR II since the equipment is jacketed also?
Is it in 8" or 10" size?

I think is better to ask your equipment vendor.

dan,

How about if the vendor data is not yet available in first stage of analysis, where can we compare the nozzle load of equipment for preliminary result?

I think is better to start with an 8". Maybe it is stronger than this, but you may want to keep some margin for the future unknown changes. Also, do not use any flexibilities when you model the nozzle shell junction.

In any case I will never understand why is the Piping stress engineer that have to evaluate a nozzle. In this way the vendor is exonerated from all responsibility.

Why I can't use the nozzle flexibilities even i met the limitations of this code and i've read how COADE apply this code to the CAESAR II software?

Let me ask you how do you intend to determine these flexibilities.
