Hi to All

In our current project the client wants to apply the Blast pressure based on the pipe size
up to 500 mm dia it is 0.2 bar with cd - 1.5
above 500 mm dia it is 0.25 bar with cd - 1.5
In Caesar for applying blast pressure based on
pressure vs Elevation
Velocity vs Elevation

in the same calculation the above said 2 sizes are comming in the same calculation (main manifold is 14" with 83 mm insulation and Branches are 8" with 83 mm insulation)

for the above said case how to apply the blast pressure

It is easy,

-for lines up to 500 mm dia use 0.2 bar with "wind shape factor" = 1.5
-for lines above 500 mm dia use the same 0.2 bar but for "wind shape factor" = 1.875 (0.25/0.2 x 1.5)

There is another way but is more difficult to implement, to transform the pressure in uniform load

Best regards,
