Hello,

What is the significance of Req (R Equivalent) in miter bend in CAESAR.

I have gone through modeling techniques of Widely spaced miter bend and closely spaced miter bends in reference manuals and also read the newsletter article but still finding difficulty in modeling widely spaced miters in CASESAR .

Can any one guide easy way of modeling widely spaced (2 cut , 3 cut , 4 cut) miters in CAESAR.

Hello to all

Yes these threads show information , but i had little confusion in technical reference manual , in example of closely spaced miter bend it is written spacing = 15.913 in . From where this value came?

Also in widely spaced example in same manual it is written Req = 45 in . From where this value came ?

How to specify spacing when Req is not given?
How to specify Req when Spacing is not given?

The appendix that provides the SIF also gives the relationship between the spacinf (s) and the (effective) bend raduis (R1). In B31.3 Appx. D, R1=(s*cot(theta))/2 for closely spaced miter bend, and, R1=r2(1+cot(theta))/2 for single or widely spaced miter bend.
