This is a fictitious problem in which a Constant Spring Hanger Movement goes beyond allowable - what to do ?
If due to some error the constant spring hanger had been wrongly specified with less deflection than actually found out at site in operation - which options are available to us ?

1) Have a new constant spring with more allowable movement.

2) Relocate the spring to a location where the thermal movement is within allowable - mostly possible, if the spring in in vertical run of pipe.

3) what else ?

Could it be due to creep behaviour of the spurious material of pressure vessel/piping or higher operating temperature experienced than the piping analysis temperature ?

regards,

sam
