I am working on a valve which has a body bolted connection. Now, apart from internal pressure, they have external loads acting on them (Seismic + Nozzle loads due to Pressure and Weight + Nozzle loads due to thermal + Nozzle Loads due to seismic). The external loads are converted into equivalent pressure using Kellog's method.

Now, while checking the the body bolt connection equation in B16.34-2004 6.4.2.1, does all these loads need to be added together for calculating the equivalent pressure. Or do we have different allowable for different kind of loads. Namely, different allowables for Seismic load or Thermal Load.

B16.34 do not directly address the external loads on valve bolted connection, but establish some limitations as per para. 6.4.2.1.

Note that Pc= pressure class designation number, e.g., for
Class 150, Pc = 150; for Class 300, Pc = 300. It is not pressure.
