Dear All,

While doing reverse engineering i found a peculiar problem regarding Hanger Predefined condition.

In the existing system, i changed one spring hanger by rigid restraint. After the Run i observed 10% Load variation.

Now the thing is if i predefine the spring hanger with existing spring hanger data. I found + 1000~2000 mm sustained displacement.

Please advise me in this issue.

Regards,
Damanpreet Singh

Sounds like you did not specify the proper cold load for that pre-defined spring.
You give little information for going any further in diagnosis.

Thanx for the reply Mr. Diehl,

The way i Predefined the Hanger Loads:

For Variable Spring Hanger:

1.Spring Rate
2. Theoretical Cold(Installed) Load

& for Constant Hanger: constant effort support load.

After followed the above procedure. Why i am getting huge sustain displacemnt.

Again, without your model and results, I can only guess.
Use F=kx; check your input; track these numbers through your output to identify the cause. I believe you will find the problem with the model or with yoru understanding of the program's operation. I don't doubt your abilities, it's just that I am confident in basic CAESAR II operation.

To obtain + 1000 mm displacement in sustain, most likely you inserted a different magnitude of load (1000 times real load-maybe). Double check your units. It is also possible that in addition to have the nozzle disconected.

Best regards,

When you specify 2 springs at location and you want to insert the Constant Effort Support Load, you have to insert the Load from 1 spring and not total load. Caesar will multiply this load by the number of springs.
