Thanks for your reply to my queries no. #38164
Still more clarification required on lining weight not included in shop fabrication weight.
Normally lining is shop activity so lining weight should appear in shop fabricated weight & which will be also helpful to estimate vessel cost.
Please clarify.

See Load Cases->Installation / Misc. Options. There you can specify where the installation of different vessel elements will be. By default, all are installed in shop.

Hello Rupesh (and thankyou Camelia for your response)

You need ask the simple question: When is the lining to be installed, in the shop, or in the field. That should settle it.

Thank you sir,

My query was exactly that, but further more though by clicking on shop tab for lining weight to be included in shop fabrication weight, it does not happen so...that is lining weight does not get added to shop fabricated weight.
This was the concern...

Please Reply..

Well, it should be. I usually calculate the weights separately and I did not observe that the lining weight would not be included in the fabricated weight or shipping weight. Did you check them separately from PV Elite?

Hello folks

Just for a trial, I designed a plain cylinder (no other elements) and got a weight. I then ran the same model with a lining, and got a calculation for the lining. Also the shipping weight included the weight of the lining.

Perhaps the best way to settle this issue is for someone to send me a file where the lining weight is ignored, and I can then investigate the problem.
