Dear all

Does PVElite has a built in FEA component to analize nozzles? or it is compulsory to buy Nozzle Pro?

If so, could it be used to calculate stresses in a sphere applied at its supports?

Thanks in Advance for your answers

Best Regards

You have to purchase Nozzle Pro from PRG, www.paulin.com. After you install it on your computer, then you can connect it to CodeCalc (which is part of PV Elite) next you can perform FEA from within CodeCalc.

I have another question
It is possible to calculate a hillside nozzle with WRC 107?
I have been told that Ceasar does a force traslation to do so, but is that possible with PVElite?

Thanks again

No Mr.José Antonio M. WRCB-107 does not cover hill side nozzle to evalute local load analysis on shell or dished end...However PV Elite perform the same assuming it as radial nozzle...

The perfect solution is FEA. This is possible in NozzlePRO too.

Also many times it depends on designer how he/she uses PV Elite to analyse local stresses in vessel at hill side nozzle.

Hope above is clear.

Dear Mr Mukesh

Sorry for the delay.

From above I understand that PVElite does forces and load traslation as Caecar does for hillside nozzles. Is this true?

Thanks

Mr.José Antonio

PV Elite perform the local load analysis of hill side nozzle assuming it as radial nozzle with all 6 loadings as entered by user...

As I said, the perfect solution is FEA. This is possible in NozzlePRO too. If you have any query/doubt related with NozzlePRO, feel free to ask.

Thanks.

You just answered my question, now I get that Pvelite does the calculation despite it might report a not accurate result. The user then must be aware of this and seek for alternatives when facing this situation.

Thanks again for your excellent answer Mr Mukesh

Best Regards
