A flange is a rigid element in CAESAR II. CAESAR II plots rigid elements in one of three different ways:
1 - if the rigid weight is left blank or set to zero, the element plots as a straight line.
2 - if the weight is greater than zero, and the length is less than the diameter, the element plots as a flange pair
3 - if the weight is greater than zero, and the length is greater than the diameter, the element plots as a valve.
The visual plotting of the element does not affect the computations. A rigid element is just that, "rigid".
