Dear All,

How do we calculate the surface area of cone roof tank.
Surface area of cone roof =?
OD=6.0 mtr
Slope 1:6

Any idea, I hope my formula is =3.142*6.0*( slant height of the cone roof).

But i am a bit confused how do we calculate Slant height if cone height is not there.
Tank design by API 650.

Surface area of cone = pi x r x s
Where, r = radius of cone at base
s = slant height of cone

In your case, slope is 1:6, hence the height of cone = 0.5 m
Therefore, s = 3.0414 m
Surface area of cone = pi x 3 x 3.0414 = 28.66 m^2
