Hello,
I created a macro that generates neutral files for pipe. Now I would like to convert automatically neutral files in .CAESAR II throught a batch or on VBA. How can I do it? I can open the associated executable Iecho.exe but I don't know how to browse a file then convert in CAESAR II readable file.
Thanks for help

This should work:
1) Open a "command prompt". 2) Navigate to the directory containing the "cii" files. 3) Invoke "iecho.exe" with the name of the "cii" file as an argument: "c:\program files\coade, inc.\caesar ii 5.20\iecho.exe" "file1.cii"

Thanks a lot it works, but now I would like to launch a static analysis but I really don't know which executable file static analysis calls and what is the associated argument/extension. I have the same question for exporting results in .xls and importing load cases.
Thanks for help

You're not going to run a "static analysis" in batch mode. There are too many EXEs involved and the arguments to each vary based on the condition of the job.
Static results can be sent to Excel from within the Output Processor. There are no external controls to instruct this processor to perform that operation from outside the software.

Dear Richard,
I'm Carlos. I'm CAESAR II's user and I need your help about neutral files.
My enterprise needs make a macro to convert a PDMS file to CAESAR II file and in the CAESAR II's brochure in Intergraph's web say in page 5: "Neutral File Import: Coade publishes the full specification of the CAESAR II neutral file standard"
May You send me these specification to make a macro?
Regards, Carlos

AVEVA developed the interface module to convert their PDMS data into a CAESAR II input file. We (Intergraph CAS) don't have this module, you will have to contact the AVEVA Sales Group and ask how you can acquire this (interface) module.

Hello Carlos,
If you have I-Sketch or SPOOLGEN programs from ALIAS Ltd., you can convert IDF files generated by PDMS to PCF files. Then CAESAR II can read PCF files.

I just tested this and it works fine. Did you receive an error message - if so what was it?

I'll have to go back and check the source code to see when we added that ability, maybe Version 5.00 can't do this. You really should upgrade, you've missed 5.10, 5.20, and the current Version is 5.30.

The procedure you showed above in your screen capture should have worked, that is all I did. That neutral file, test.cii, was in the c:\rigid directory correct?

We haven't built that path into the software. Use the dialog to perform this function.

Rchard,
Is there any possibility for that option in next build of 5.1 or 5.2 or 5.3.
Thank a lot for your valuable guidance.

New features/abilities are never added to existing versions for QA reasons. I can put this idea on the Development List, and we'll see when we can work it into a newer version.
