In a pipe system, do we need to make sure the pipe would rest on all supports? If the pipe lifts up from a +Y restraint in operating case and there is no overstress(in SUS, EXP)found in the system. Is it necessary to replace the +Y restraint by a spring? Thanks in advance for comment.

It's depend on your piping configuration model and the lift-up movement. If the movement is small then we can use a rigid support with out causing expansion problem.

The guide cantilever method need to be used to estimate the required flexibility length to put a rigid support if your lift-up point near a vertical pipe.

Of course, if the movement is large then a spring need to be used or you should relocate your supports.

SLG,
We all know that sustain and expansion are contradict in terms problem occurence and the mode solution. This contradiction can be resolved through some type of compromise and spring hanger is one this solution.
In addition to Van ha suggestions, you will confirm the necessity of that particular support. Assuming sustain problem will not exist without this (+Y) support and the displacement is within the recommended limit then spring hanger is not necessary and that +Y support can be deleted from the system.
