Dear Moderator,

I am designing a vessel using PV Elite. Design Code is ASME Section VIII Division 2 (edition 2007, addenda 2008). I am using PV Elite 2009 (Build 090101). There was a revision in Step 10 (Sl.No j of 4.5.5 in Addenda 2008). A sentence "The allowable stress shall be the minimum of the shell or nozzle
material evaluated at the design temperature
" was removed in Addenda 2008. However, in the build I use (Build 090101), it exist. Could you tell the Update which I should use for designing as per Addenda 2008 (where the above change has been incorporated).

Regards
Kris

Hello Kris

That note has been there since the 2007 edition of ASME Section VIII, Division 2 was released, before any Addenda were issued. Whatever version of PV Elite you are using, that note applies. So, you must honour that note at all times.

Kris,

It seems that you did not apply any update for the 2009 version. If you have the disc for the 2010 version, browse for a folder "Older versions" and install the latest 2009 version.

If you still need the 2009 version let us know.

Ray,

Your reply was "Whatever version of PV Elite you are using, that note applies. So, you must honour that note at all times".

Can i conlude that even with updated version of 2009, my vessel (designed with Edition 2007 and Addenda 2008) need to satisfy this requirement (eventhough the requirement was removed in Addenda 2008). Please reply.
