Dear Sir/madam,
I am writing to ask for a problem that I have encountered applying PV-Elite in my design work to determine Min. Design Metal Temperature (MDMT) as follow:
-According to ASME Sec.VIII Div.1 when using Figure UCS-66.1 the ratio [tr * E*/ (tn-c)] shall be determined. The problem is to determine tr which is not clear for me how it is considered in PV-Elite while ASME says it is the required thickness of the component under consideration in the corroded condition for all applicable loadings. To have more clarification the following parameters and results of my design case may be useful.

Pressure Vessel Input Data:
Internal Design Pressure: 5barg
External Design Pressure: 0.833 barg
Design Temperature: 450°C
Shell & Head Joint Efficiency: 1
Shell & head Corrosion allowance: 3 mm
Shell Req. thickness due to internal pressure: 22.48 mm
Shell Req. thickness due to External pressure: 21 mm
Shell Nominal Thickness: 25 mm
Ellip. Head Req. thickness due to internal pressure: 22.4 mm
Ellip. Head Req. thickness due to External pressure: 14.5 mm
Ellip. Head Nominal Thickness: 25 mm

MDMT Report:
tr = 9.458 mm ??
tg = 25 mm
C = 3mm
E*=1
So the stress Ratio will be 0.43

It would be highly great of you letting me know how PV-Elite consider (calculate) tr for calculating stress ratio in UCS-66.1.
