Hi,

I am new to this forum.

I am doing pipe stress analysis for skid package.in philosophy client mentioned that " all tie-in shall be anchored for pipe stress analysis purpose " . I have completed analysis by providing anchor in CAESAR II at tie-in and ensured loads and forces are within allowable.

in that case could you please clarify physically anchor support required at tie-in?

Thanks in advance..

The anchor installed must be able to resist forces from both sides without rotation or translation, in order for your calculations to be valid. So design the anchor on that basis.

Thanks Moverz,

could you elaborate

Putting anchor at tie-ins (in CAESAR II ) to ensure loads and forces are within allowable and not transfered to interfacing package?

or

shall anchor be provided physically upon installation?

Thanks in advance

The anchor should actually be there, unless you are sure that the connection at the skid edge will not move under load, or impose a displacement on the connected pipe.
