Hey dudes/dudettes,

A question here regarding Vessel design. Basically I have this crappy P&ID from our consultant with nozzles, manholes, etc.etc.

The manhole requires repad, but at the same time the repad is clashing with the saddle wear plate. I guess my question is: Is there a way to combine the manhole's repad with the saddle wear plate as a one-piece?

It is applicable in real life, as I have seen repads for various nozzles being used as one piece. Can PVElite do that?

Cheers,

Han

Hello Han

The code (whatever code you are using) does not provide a procedure for this. There is however a method in PV Elite whereby the user can limit the amount of the shell to be used for the nozzle reinforcement.

Sometimes process engineers who are not familiar with mechanical design make the mechanical analysis somewhat onerous.
