1. PVElite considers that the equipment is lifted with the internals and insulation installed, which in case of towers is not always the case. How can this be modified? I have 6t of insulation and internals which are not lifted with the equipment and the tailing lug fails.

2. How is the input for lifting lugs considered in case of an equipment with a intermediate skirt? Are there the distances from the skirt base or from the bottom of the equipment?

@ Camelia.

As per your above querry wht i undrstnad is you need bracing calculation for skirt,
whihc P.V elite does nt perform but u can get the scetion area required for bracing. For which you need to perform ringging analysis.
which u can do in load cases (instalation miscellaneous option)

there you need to put importance factor.
and tailing lug distance from Vessel center line and tailing lug C.L to T.L hieght of vessel..

Hello Camelia

If you attach lifting lugs to a vessel, the insulation and internals are included in the weight of the vessel when it is lifted. If you go to the 'Load Cases' tab in PV Elite and click on the little button with the three dots next to the 'Installation | Misc. Options' field, you will see a table where you can include the attachments to the vessel for the shop construction, or only after the vessel has been erected. In that way you have the choice of including or excluding the attachments in the lift.

hELLO RAY,

WHAT I THNK RIGGING ANALYSIS IS NOT TOO ENOUGH FOR TAILING LUG LOCAL ANALYSIS .. I THINK OUR TAILING LUG MST BE CHECKED BY 2 POINT METHOD AS DESCRIBED IN DENISS MOSS SPECIALLY IN CSE OF LAREGE COLUMNS. I m following the same instead of rigging analysis in pv -elite. I am not opposing u , may be you are right in the case vessels but for column local base block must be checked against 2 point method. '' Precaution is safety '' is the principle during erection of equipment, its my thought.

THANKS RAY

Hi Mukesh

I shall take that under advisement. I shall discuss this with Mandeep (his office is next to mine).
