Please note that in the WRC 107 analysis in Codec calculation, while importing the model the actual hub thk and diameter is not imported, Please look into this matter.

Dear Ray,

He is importing the nozzle data from his "Pvelite model with nozzle connections".

And he is emphasizing the following query:

1) In PVElite, he has modeled the "Hub type nozzle" & while importing that configuration in code calc, actual nozzle diameter (i.e. Nozzle OD including hub thickness) is not imported.

& I also agree with him:

For eg:

Nozzle OD : 610 mm (24" OD)
Nozzle Neck Thk : 20 mm
Hub Thk : 40 mm

After importing in code calc, nozzle actual OD shows as

610 + 2*40 = 690 mm

However, actual OD shall be

(610-2*20) + 2*40 = 650 mm

Hi Mr Shulkla

The moral of the story is to use PV Elite. I am curious as to why you would use CodeCalc?

Yes you are correct,

But some times we have found that while entering the forces & moments in PVElite & saw the result by pressing "quick calculator" button our result was actually passed in that quick calc window.

But after designing whole equipment & ran the PVElite, the same nozzle failed.

That is why we prefer Code calc for it.

For your info, this had happened in 2006 or 2007 version & this happened once or twice but not frequently

Ok

I see your point. Of course, the user can use any method he/she chooses to get the job done.
