Dear to whom it may concerned,

Please refer to the attched PVElite calculation. The values of K1 , K2 and hence Y seem to be inccorect that lead to high thickness for the base plate.

Please clarify.

Hi Winson,

The latest version of PV ELite 2010 uses another formula for the moment arm for the baseplate. Install PV Elite 2010 to see this calculation.
Quote:
Baseplate Thickness Calculation per D. Moss:

Bearing Pressure (fc)
= 2 * (QO + Tforce) / (Y * Bplen)
= 2 * (25166.08 + 791.98 ) / (1332.06 * 2316.48 )
= 0.02 MPa

Distance from Baseplate Edge to the Web [ADIST]:
= (Bplen - Weblngth) / 2
= (2316.48 - 2265.68 ) / 2
= 25.4000 mm

Overturning Moment due To Bolt Tension [Mt]:
= Tforce * Adist
= 791.98 * 25.40
= 20124.53 N-mm

We have also corrected the values which were not shown correctly in metric units in the report. The corrections will be seen on the next PV Elite 2010 Build.

I have attached a sample of the calculations for the Bolt Area calculation and the Baseplate Thickness Calculation per D. Moss for you to see.
