When selecting spring hangers, ther are in CII two typical load cases: weight for hanger loads case(springs considered as rigid) and operating for hanger travel case (without considering spring stiffness). I thought that the spring load considered for the operating for hanger travel case was the load obtained in weight for hanger case, but I see it is not right (at least in the model I am now working with). How is obtained the load for hanger travel load which is later used for hanger selection?

The load used in the "operating hanger travel case" is the load determine in the "restrained weight case". This may or may not be obvious if there are non-linear (+Y) restraints that change status. In this event, the restrained weight case is repeated, and a new load will be obtained.

So if there is any support lifting up, for example, in the "operating hanger travel case", then CAESAR runs a new "restrained weight case" without those supports, isn't it?
