Good morning Everyone,
I am designing the vessel as per ASME Sec.VIII div.2 by PVElite -2009 , Design conditions are :
Length : 2m, Dia. 1m, 2: 1 Heads
Material : SA 240 Gr347H
Design press : 6 bar,
Design temp : 535 Deg C.
The PV-Elite shows the error "Maximum Temprature exceeded when computing compressive allowable". As per my undestanding supports attachements (saddle, lug, skirt etc.) develops the compressive stresses in shell and to compare these with allowable compressive stress PVElite /code takes the limitations of temp. of 425 Deg.C for high alloy steel of Part 4, Table-4.4.1 of div2 (2007edition). But as per ASME Sec.IID Table-5A the max. temp allowed for 347H matl is 815 Deg.C. How the ASME have these two different temp. limiting conditions?
Please help on above topic.
Regards,
Prashant
