Hi all,

In CII, EXP case is determined from the combination of OPE and SUS (OPE - SUS)and not determined by analyzing thermal loads alone. Can you explain the reason for this calculation?

If OPE may be non-linear and SUS may be linear, is this combination (OPE-SUS) correct ?

OPE-SUS is always correct. You end up with the "displacement stress range" that the Codes are looking for. Analyzing thermal or "thermal + displacement" does not account for all of the differences if the system is non-linear.
