We currently use Cadworx P & ID and Plant Pro. One specific client is requiring us to calculate the wall thickness for the process lines. We have written all the clients specs into Cadworx and built the P & ID database correctly.

Is it possible to use the information in our project database with CAESAR to calculate the required wall thickness for these process lines?

Thanks

I don't think CAESAR II is the proper tool to review wall thickness calculations.
We can pull piping from CADWorx Plant into CAESAR II but we cannot bring in a project specification. But once in CAESAR II, all we'll do, as far as wall thickness is concerned, is check the straight pipe and bent pipe pressure design thickness based on the entered temperatures and pressures. (We show the required pressure thickness assumeing E=1 in our miscellaneous output.) If this is the first pass to CAESAR II, you must enter your temperatures and pressures. And you should enter your Design Temperature and Design Pressure pair (which may not be your analysis T&P). CAESAR II does not check the ratings of all the other "Listed Components" in your system (e.g. valves, flanges, tees and elbows).
It looks to me like you have your cart before the horse here. Isn't the Specification initialized to ensure that all components used in the layout meet the pressure thickness requirements? But perhaps you're just looking for a quick back check here.

It was one client that we have. Most of their piping specs have a calculated wall thickness. P & ID's were developed for new tower, preliminary equipment layout and piping arrangements done. Now the temps, pressures, and specs are changing. How is that for working as a small consulting firm. At least fixing the specs, P & ID's, and plant models is easy thanks to CADworx. We were just looking for an easier way to do the wall thickness calcs, besides using a spreadsheet program.

Thanks for the help though. Just trying to avoid inputting the same information over and over.
