Dear All,
I am doing seismic analysis for a vertical vessel by "Response Spectrum" code.
Skirt of this vessel is at an intermediate section and not at bottom of vessel as in general case.

In the calculation, Seismic Force & Moments for sections below the Skirt Level are not being considered in the adopted Moments in Basering Calculation. Only moments due to sections above Skirt level are being used for Basering calculation.
What about Moments due to sections/ elements below Skirt Level?
Why not it is used for design calculation of Basering ?

Please clarify.
