I have a query with Tubesheet design module of PVElite. There there is one option as per UHX: Fixed Tubesheet: Gasketed Both sides.

My question is how should i replace shellside gasket during maintenance?

Are u doing a heat exchanger that not allow tubesheet weld directly on the shell? for example: cooper brass tubesheet with carbon steel shell.
such design will not allow shell side gasket replacement as far as i know. pray for shellside gasket reliability or you are going to headache if leakage come from shell side. I will go for other alternation if i were you.

I have a simillar case as mentioned by you.

But the point here to ask a question is, there should be some pop up when someone select this option.

Another concern is shellside gasket replacement, i am sure this configuration is given in ASME Code with some understanding, i actually want to know that.

Code provides design rules. It does not encompass all the situations that can arise. You still have to use engineering judgment. I agree with KK here.

May be in some this type of design may be the most preferred option. From time to time, users manage surprise us with some of the things they do.
