Dear Ray/Mandeep, while designing lug support in coade calc, it asks for additional horizontal force as an input. As per the help, we have to enter piping loads at nozzles. My question is should i enter only horizontal component of that piping load or i have to input some resultant load and what about axial nozzles? Also the same input is not available in pvelite, there how it is taken care?

Nozzle loads are considered as local loads. That means that only the individual nozzles 'see' the load. The rest of the vessel does not 'see' those loads. Loads that applied to the vessel as a whole are global loads. Supports can only see global loads. Therefore, if you want the supports to be subject to any forces and moments, you must enter them separately.

I have separately entered nozzle loads to be considered in lug support design. Here i would like to address one point, lug support calculation starts with calculation of force per lug in operating condition (Flug) & force per lug in empty condition (Flugempty). These values willl be derived considering Mlug value.

Now when we enter force/moment in x, y, z direction, software adds or subtracts & arrives at final Mlug, Flug & Flugempty.

I want to know in which condition the forces/moments will be added and/or subtracted.

Can its break up be dispayed in the calculation step?
