Dear All,

Please explain me that, how to calculate the external “sand pressure” on the buried vessel?

Hi Mak

Sand is a granular product. The properties on granular substances are subh that the vertical and horizontal pressures differ. The problem you pose is beyound my expertise. I am sorry.

Hello Ray n Mac,

Buried vessels are buried by vi-bro compression method.

Hence, it is safe to assume that sand is uni formally distributed over the equipment surface with density (rho).

Multiply this density with the center line of the vessel at the specified depth to get the external pressure.
