Dear all,

I am attaching the drawing assembly in which flange is welded to ellipsoidal head, So that you will have an idea what I exactly want to ask. Please refer to the drawing attached herewith. The slip on flange is welded to the dished end (ellipsoidal head) & the blind flange i.e. cover is used to close it by means of stud & nut. Basically I want to calculate the dimensions of both flanges and the reinforcement calculation.

actually I am confused about, how to calculate the dimensions of the slip on flange.

So what I need is the diemsnions of slip on flange welded to shell & reinforcement calculation for that. Anybody is having idea friends, how to calculate the slip on Flange dimention, reinforcement ??? please help me out ...

Thanks n regds,

Pramod

Which particular dimension to you have a question on?

you would also have to model the opening as a nozzle and I think in ASME Sec. VIII Div. 1 it states that you should not take any credit for the area in the "nozzle" wall (but confirm it).
